Computer repair

Description:
UMH has a contract to repair University computer equipment that is broken and out of warranty.

Recipients:
This service is provided to all UMH staff.

  • Repair cost:
    • Free of charge, if the repair is carried out using parts available in the IT Infrastructure Service warehouse, mainly from decommissioned equipment.
    • If parts are not available, the repair cost is €115.36 (VAT included), regardless of the broken part.

Requirements:
The equipment for which the repair is requested must be inventoried and belong to the UMH computer fleet.

Service Request:
To request a repair for a device, an incident must be registered through the Incident and Service Request Support Center.

After the request, a technician will evaluate the equipment to determine the origin of the breakdown. If UMH has parts for its resolution, it will be fixed; otherwise, the procedure is as follows:

  • If the repair request is for equipment belonging to the Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), a document will be sent where the budget code for the internal charge must be filled in. This document must be signed by the person responsible for that budget.
    Once the budget is received, duly completed, signed, and stamped by the responsible person, the equipment repair will be processed with the subcontracted company, and after that, the invoice will be processed against the indicated budget code.
  • If the repair request is for equipment belonging to the Administrative and Support Staff (PAS), it will be processed against the Management Office (Gerencia).
