The <\/span>2026\u20132030 Information Technology (IT) Strategic Plan<\/a> of Universidad Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez de Elche (UMH)<\/b> sets out the University\u2019s technology roadmap for the next five years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Plan was approved by the UMH Governing Council on <\/span>February 25, 2026, with a shared goal: to improve the University through technology, <\/strong>driving innovation and addressing the needs of teaching, learning, research, and university operations.<\/p>\n

Its implementation involves different areas across the University and positions IT Services as a key contributor in addressing the challenges of a constantly evolving technology landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A shared strategy for digital transformation<\/b><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

The IT Strategic Plan is organized around four areas that define UMH\u2019s technology priorities through 2030:<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1. IT governance<\/b><\/h3>\n

Aligns technology investments, projects, and resources with the University\u2019s strategic goals, promoting <\/span>efficient, transparent, sustainable, and coordinated management<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This area covers regulatory compliance, digital culture, project management, sustainability, and talent development.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2. Development, online teaching, and accessibility<\/b><\/h3>\n

Drives the evolution of digital services and applications to provide a better user experience and advance the <\/span>digitalization, simplification, and integration of University processes<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Digital accessibility, online teaching, and continuous service improvement are also key priorities in this area.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3. IT infrastructure<\/b><\/h3>\n

Defines the evolution of the technology infrastructure that supports University activities, including connectivity, equipment, mobility, virtual desktops, systems, storage, classrooms, and audiovisual technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

The goal is to maintain an infrastructure that is <\/span>resilient, efficient, scalable, and sustainable<\/b>, and ready to meet UMH\u2019s current and future needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4. Cybersecurity<\/b><\/h3>\n

Strengthens the protection of the University\u2019s systems, services, and information through enhanced prevention, monitoring, and response capabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

This area also includes <\/span>cybersecurity training and awareness<\/b>, the development of policies and standards, and collaboration with specialized organizations and networks.<\/span><\/p>\n

People-centered technology<\/b><\/h2>\n

The University\u2019s digital transformation depends on more than technology alone.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Plan recognizes <\/span>people as an essential part of IT Services<\/b> and promotes continuous learning, digital skills development, and services increasingly focused on the needs of those who learn, teach, conduct research, work, and collaborate at UMH.<\/span><\/p>\n

This vision is built on <\/span>universal accessibility, innovation, quality, continuous improvement, and efficiency<\/b> as guiding principles for the evolution of technology services.<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking ahead to 2030<\/b><\/h2>\n

Meeting the technology challenges of an increasingly digital, accessible, secure, and connected University while anticipating future needs.<\/p>\n
